What to Expect at Your First Visit to Tom Anderson DDS
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT
Our office is open Monday 8am-5pm and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7am to 3pm. Closed on Saturday and Sunday. You can save time by filling out the new patient form and bringing it to you first visit. When you call one of our friendly office staff will be glad to assist you in locating the type of appointment you need.
YOUR FIRST DENTAL VISIT
Each patient has a specific reason they are making an appointment. Our staff are trained to focus in on your reason for calling and make sure that the appropriate appointment is made. We are available for consultations to develop a treatment plan, regular dental appointments such as cleanings, emergency visits, and second opinions.
FIRST DENTAL EXAMINATION
Your first dental examination will consist of several different parts. You can expect: dental x-rays, review of your dental and medical history, discussion about your individual needs and concerns, a limited or comprehensive examination depending on your situation, as well as oral cancer screening. You can also expect treatment and preventive dental health recommendations along with the opportunity to address your questions. Expect us to address what you came to see us for. Above all expect honesty and integrity from our office.
At our office, we recognize that people are fearful of going to the dentist. From the drilling to the filling to the billing, it can all be very stressful. Our goal is make you feel comfortable and treated like we would treat our own family. We will never be judgmental or demeaning because we realize that along with these stresses, your teeth can be a source of embarrassment. If you have severe dental anxiety please contact Dr. Anderson to discuss your care and options to help make this a great experience.
YOUR DENTAL INSURANCE
As a courtesy, we will file dental insurance benefits for you. We are not familiar with every coverage, deductible or co-payment, as plan providers frequently change and amend their policies from year to year. We promise to do our best to help each patient with their insurance benefits but cannot guarantee what insurance companies will pay, because filing insurance is not a guarantee of payment for the service(s) performed.
PAYING FOR DENTAL WORK
In many cases we have no way of knowing what your insurance will pay until the claim is submitted and received. In some cases, payment in full will be requested when the patient does not have insurance.
